Need something bigger?
Tommy can create work well beyond standard commission sizes, including 36×48 and larger, stretched or mounted canvas up to approximately 48×60", and very large work created on canvas roll.
Previous rolled-canvas work has reached up to 9×6 ft. Custom dimensions can be discussed for your space. Canvas roll pieces can be especially useful for easy and cheaper shipping. Tommy Is also available large scale wall murals in the Illinois Area.

Every painting is created personally by me, so I can only work on a limited number of custom pieces at once. Most commissions are completed in roughly 1–3 months depending on the size, level of detail, and projects already scheduled.

How much does a custom painting cost?
Custom paintings begin at $750 for select smaller or less-complex work. Larger, more detailed pieces are priced individually. Popular 24×30 commissions commonly fall around $1,500–$2,500+, while 30×40 pieces commonly fall around $2,500–$3,500+. Detailed large-scale work can be $5,000+.
How long does a commission take?
Most commissions take approximately 1–3 months. Timing depends on the size, complexity, current project schedule, and whether the piece is needed for a specific date. Depending on the situation, Tommy can expidite them.
Do I need the perfect reference photo?
No. Send what you have. Multiple references can often be combined, and we can talk through what will work best before the painting begins.
Can you combine multiple photos or ideas?
Yes. Many commissions involve combining people, places, details, or references that were never captured together in one photograph.
Can you help me choose a size?
Absolutely. If you're unsure, I can recommend a size based on the composition, level of detail, display space, and budget.
Will I see the painting before it's finished?
Yes. I typically send progress photos throughout the process so you can see the painting develop and communicate with me while I'm working.
How does payment work?
Once the project, price, and timeline are agreed upon, a deposit reserves the commission. Final payment details are confirmed directly before the project begins.
How much is shipping?
Shipping is quoted separately based on the finished size and destination. Many standard-size commissions ship fully insured for roughly $50–$100 within the U.S. Larger, expedited, or oversized pieces may cost more. Very large artwork can sometimes be shipped on canvas roll, which may reduce costs compared with freight-shipping an oversized stretched canvas.
